10 reasons to visit Everyman Cinema
Posted on August 29, 2018 by Alex Perrins
The boutique cinema brand opened its doors on 27th February 2015, and has been a staple part of Birmingham’s silver screen experience ever since.
Offering a luxurious new way to enjoy film, the Mailbox cinema has become one of the most-loved venues in the city.
So whether you still haven’t ventured inside, haven’t been for a while, or are a regular visitor, here are 10 reasons why you should book a visit to Everyman Cinema Mailbox Birmingham.
1. Signature sofa seating
Cinema seating that brings the comfort of home to a public cinema is always a good thing. With luxurious upholstery, complete with cushions, side tables and footstools, each screen has its own unique décor and personality. Offering a real treat as soon as you walk in, it’s a trademark feature in every Everyman Cinema.
2. Spielburgers (and other food…)
Trust us when we say there are more to these burgers than a witty name that is perfectly at home in a cinema setting. All served with hand cut, skin on fries, choose from the classic House Burger with a range of toppings, as well as variations including the Smoked and Hot burgers. There’s also a Chicken Burger, a vegetarian Halloumi Burger, and a series of seasonal specials that are as good as they sound.
Don’t fancy a burger? With pizza, beef dogs and sharing boards on the menu too, there’s no need to plan a dinner stop before arriving.
3. Drinks and snacks
The classic popcorn and drink combo gets an upgrade at Everyman Cinema, with a selection of gourmet snacks and drinks to enjoy in-screen. Savoury cashews, wasabi peas and chilli bites sit alongside fizzy retro candy, honeycomb bites and a selection of fresh cakes, all served in rustle-free packaging. On the drinks menu, enjoy an old-school coke float, moreish milkshakes or a hot drink, whilst those looking for a more grown-up cinema date can choose from a selection of wines, beers, ciders and signature cocktails.
4. Special Delivery
We can’t talk about the food and drink, without mentioning that you can get it all delivered directly to your sofa seat. Order at the bar before you head in to your screen, and they’ll deliver it you as soon as it’s ready, meaning you can enjoy the food, drink and the film all at the same time. With the option to eat in the lounge area before the film too, it’s a win-win.
5. Special events
As well as showing the latest blockbusters, Everyman Cinema is also known for its cultural and special events. From seeing some of your older favourites in style with Everyman Late Nights, to live partnerships with the National Theatre, Royal Shakespeare Company, Royal Opera House and more, take a look at what’s coming up here.
6. A new film schedule every week
Home to the latest new releases, the cult classics, and the special events as mentioned above, one of our favourite things about Everyman is that they control the listings on a weekly basis. Ensuring the most popular films stay on screen for longer and big releases can get the love they deserve, listings are tailor made to each cinema.
7. Paddington Bear
Greeting visitors on the way to Screen 3 downstairs, you’ll find the lovable Paddington Bear. With a signature hat-tip, he’s just one part of the quirky décor that can be found throughout the cinema.
8. Everyman, every day
There aren’t many cinemas that you’d visit, if you had no plans to see a film, but thanks to Everyman’s stylish lounge that’s exactly what you’ll want to do here. With free WiFi, hot drinks and the same food and drink menu we tempted you with earlier, it’s the perfect place to escape the office. Open from 10am until late every day, it’s one of our favourite spots for a change of scenery.
9. Great value memberships
A club that we definitely want to be a part of, Everyman Cinema memberships are the perfect gift for film-lovers. Offering access to special events throughout the year, plus discounts on tickets and all food & drink, there are three options for film buffs to choose from.
10. Private hire
Sold on the magic of Everyman? Whether you’re seeking the perfect space for a press launch, corporate reception, birthday party, intimate private screening or business presentation, Everyman Cinema Mailbox is the perfect destination.
