As we get deeper into the year and welcome the first signs of spring, it’s time to make way for SS19 trends. Think neon shades, statement shines and workwear silhouettes.

Going Green

L-R: Versace, Jasper Conran, Jeremy Scott

When the sun comes out, so do the colours. 2019 is gradually seeing the incorporation of green through the brightest pops of all – neon, lime or with an acid yellow tint. This highlighter hue is loud and bold without being busy, so lessen the scary and keep it simple with a single piece for each outfit. Whether you’re layering a rain jacket for those summer showers, a thin knit or an easy-to-throw-on side bag, introduce the colour in contrast to your existing wardrobe.

Shop It:

L-R: Women’s Lime Green Contrast V-Neck Wool Sweater, £155, Paul SmithZatchels Barrel Classic Bag In Winter Green, £45, English Brands | Recycled Nylon Bomber Jacket, £95, Tommy Hilfiger | Kaylee Green Cotton Trench Coat, £295, LK Bennett

Check Mate

L-R: Michael Kors, Temperley London, Burberry

While usually seen through the colder season and autumnal colours, the check pattern is staying strong as we transition into the warmer months. Through traditional symmetrical lines or larger gingham, the humble check is in whatever the arrangement. Wear it in a formal-form with dad-style shirts and pencil skirts or as an outfit-changer with a trench and bright white trainers.

Shop it:

L-R: Women’s White Leather Monochrome Check Pattern Basso Trainers, £350, Paul Smith Navy and White Graphic Gingham Checked Shirt, £70, Gieves and Hawkes | Miroe Red Check Skirt, £175, LK Bennett | Water-repellent Coat in a Checked Linen-Cotton Blend, £575, BOSS by Hugo Boss

Low Key Utility

L-R: Isabel Marant, Fendi, Alberta Ferretti

This season’s easiest transition trend comes in the form of utility. Ideal for fuss-free fashion, this is summer’s most versatile trend, and can be easily worn in a variety of shapes, styles and colours. Implement by pairing with strappy sandals and a leather jacket for a modern dinner date take or keep it casual and simple with trainers and relaxed shapes.

Shop it:

L-R: Ruby Denim Jumpsuit, £295, LK Bennett | Point Collar Utility Coat, £350, Tommy Hilfiger | A.B.C.L Service Green Selvedge Jacket, £265, Burrows and Hare | Barbour Waxed Cotton and Leather Cartridge Bag in Olive, £79.95, English Brands | Belted Shirt Dress in Stretch Cotton with Point Collar Red, £249, BOSS by Hugo Boss

Summer Shine

Whether through finishes of metallic, shimmer or sparkle, this statement trend was seen on the catwalk across all forms of clothing. Incorporate easily into your holiday or at-home wardrobe by adding accents or all-out glam pieces. For a more subtle touch, simply add a metallic heel to add a whole new dimension to your look.

Shop it:
