Getting Here By Boat

The Mailbox is accessible by boat via The Birmingham Canal Network throughout Birmingham City Centre. Moorings is available in Gas Street Basin and Brindleyplace.

The Mailbox has a dedicated Waterbus service operated by Sherborne Wharf Heritage Narrow Boats. The narrow boat ‘Ariel’ sails down the Birmingham canals at the following dates / times:

  • Gas Street Basin
  • The Mailbox
  • Sherborne Wharf

Service dates / times:

  • Runs between March to November with limited service in cooler months.
  • Service runs ½ hour daily between 10.30am – 5pm

Waterbus costs:

  • Round trip: £3.50
  • One stop: 75p
